Sigling/Sailing

Her eru nøkur viðurskiftir, ið ikki øll kunnu “roknast út”, men er ein meting hjá skiparanum

  • Trykk í sjónum ella ilt í sjónum
  • Harður ella veikur streymur
  • Aldu hædd
  • Hvør ætt hevur ligið
  • Hvør ætt er
  • Veðurforsøgn
  • Vindur
  • Rák, íður og afturundirgerðir
  • Klokka

Eisini er sera umráðandi at vera í góðari tíð, um tú vil nýta rákið at sigla við.

  • Kanst tú avgerða klokkuna, so kanst tú fáa eina róliga sigling.
  • Kanst tú ikki avgera klokkuna, mást tú vita hvar tú skalt- og kanst sigla

Sailing around the Faroe Islands is an amazing experience, sea stack, caves, wildlife, small harbours and anchor places in the quietest places you can imagen.

The way to sail the Faore Islands is clockwise around.

Check out the current, YOU CAN’T FIGHT IT, with speed from 5-12kn, you will have a nice experience.

Normal current is 6 hours West, going north between the Islands and 6 hours East going south between the Islands, but that is normal.

In Tórshavn area the current goes 4 hours North and 8 hours South, at the north tip of Streymoy you will have 9 hours East and 3 hours West, this is close to land. The West side of Vestmannasund, wher you normally will find came water the current is always going North.

Follow the main current but use the app RAK.FO for Apple and Androids to find the current that goes the opposite way, often close to land the current is weaker or goes the other way. This app is the best current finder on the Islands.
